A Plague of Pollen
The two big red oaks in our front yard drop loads of pollen in the spring, but this year seems worse for some reason. It has been dropping from the trees like snow, blanketing our roof and yard. It also blows around, so hanging out in the backyard is pretty unpleasant! It has been forming clumps and blowing around the streets like tumbleweeds! Sammy barked at one yesterday.

It is also covering the pool:
It is usually all down by April 15th. Then it's time to pick it up and wash the green dust off of everything. I'm ready for this to go away so I can do some work on my garden. Although Sammy, my garden helper, keeps digging up my pots so I don't know how successful I will be!

That is most impressive and clearly not very pleasant!
Thanks for the update on the Percheron. They are not "indoor" horses and get very lonely when separated from their friends. We hope he will be happy at the farm.
Wow - I thought we had bad pollen here, but it's nothing like that! (It looks like it might make good mulch and/or compost though.)
We have noticed that the pollen is worse here this year too - we think it's because it was so cold and then warmed up so quickly (88 degrees today - really unusual!)
Never seen anything like it. And mom complains about the birch in our patio. Wow! OF COURSE it will be gone by April 15th, that's mom's and my birthday. ;)

So strange!! Do you have to shovel that stuff?!
Wow! That's a LOT of pollen! We think Sammy is very sweet to help you by digging in your garden pots. He sounds like a very good helper.
Happy Birthday to your dear Mom today! Isn't it the best to share a special day? It made us happy to read her comment and to know that she is feeling grateful today. Okay, mutual birthday hug now.
