Macro Tuesday

I missed Macro Monday, so Tuesday will have to work. I have been experimenting with the macro setting on my camera & here are some results: a fig budding out (see the little fig next to the leaf?); a peach blossom; and two Cherokee rose blossoms. The original settlers of North Louisiana brought these beautiful roses with them from South Carolina in about 1840. My Mom and Dad dug them up from an abandoned farm house and planted them in their yard. It is a huge vine and very impressive when fully in bloom! They look a lot like Mermaid roses, a more recent hybrid. Happy Tuesday!

Mom says she loves the smell of fig leaves! Obviously she doesn't get to smell it here in Germany though. The peach and the rose blossom are very beautiful!
