Just Listen!
Alice and I just went for a walk and this is what we heard:

It's good that you got a picture. They can get really loud; and with lots of them, wow. You are right. The sound of summer.
They sound like summer to me too! But I don't think we have them out here in California. At least, I don't remember hearing them since we moved out here.
