Well -- finally! We have high-speed internet service once again. Amazing how cut off you feel, especially if you have blog friends you want to keep up with!
It rained and rained all Saturday, but I did manage to get out and cut some roses. I planted two hybrid teas in April: one called "Mr. Lincoln" and one called "Tiffany." The ones pictured are Tiffany roses. Aren't they stunning? They smell lovely too! The vase is a Victorian silver bud vase, a family piece, but it leaks so I just put them in for the picture. I'm keen to plant more roses!
Baby Bean spent some time over the weekend looking through boxes of old pictures and she found these of Baby Tiger, who came to live here almost 5 years ago. Look how big his ears look! Now his ears look small; Jocebeane thinks he looks like batman. Tiger came from a local cat rescue group. The top picture is recent.

That baby photo is so cute! (And so is the recent one, of course). Siena and Chilli call those "Frootbat ears" :).
The roses are beautiful. I really like roses but don't grow them because of the maintenance - and the thorns.
And I didn't know you were working on your dissertation! Hope that's going well. I work in academia, so I'm surrounded by people who are in various parts of that process. And when you do have time to check out Photoshop, I highly recommend "Photoshop Elements" - it's much less expensive and will do just about anything you want. I have it at work and really like it.
Welkhome Bakhk!

Love the roses. Wish I could grow roses; I might try again after looking at yours. Baby Bean sure is cute. She has a good hug on Tiger.
We're glad you are back too! The new connection sounds really cool - speed is everything in the internet! ; )
Your roses are ahead of ours. This year some have horrible mildew and don't look nice at all. They are absolutely necessary if you love fragance though!
Mom is kind of worn out and we can't get her to post on our bloggie. It seems like she thinks she can get away with blogging about her plants only.
Hrmpf!
Tiger, you were a cutie and you have grown into a very cool and respectable mancat.

The roses look wonderful! Ours are starting to leaf out after a good pruning.
Tiger looks like a mysterious mancat!!!
Sweet lass too.

Those are beautiful roses! Tiger is such a cutie. We love seing his baby pictures.
Tiger was such a cute little house panther kitten, and is even more handsome today. We'd say even more attractive than the roses, although we're sorta prejudiced... :-)
Those roses are stunning!
