Since I finished chapter 3 on Wednesday (yay!) I took Thursday off to do some fun things, like visit my favorite hardware and garden stores. After hearing that Siena and Chilli from Cat with a Garden have about 300 potted plants to look after (!!), I decided I had better get my own pots ready. Here you see two kinds of basil, two kinds of thyme, cat nip, cat mint, & patio tomatoes, all for pots. I also bought some Mexican oregano for the garden because it has lovely spikey blooms and the bees like them. The bulbs are jumbo caladiums, I forget the variety, but the leaves are a deep red. Alice is ready to get stuff planted -- she's a very keen gardener, you see!

A little lizard checked out our garden goodies too.

I think GK spotted the lizard!

Happy Easter to all our blog friends!

We think mom is a plant geek! : )
Her newest craze are vegetables. She sowed chard (we call it mangold), Sweet Peas and normal peas. Bought a rhubarb and salad seedlings and strawberries...
Still no cat nip though! Hrmpf!

Hi - and thanks for dropping by my blog! I'm happy to meet you and your family.

Your pot plants look great. I have some perennials that overwinter in large pots, but they're just starting to come up here (it's been a cold spring).

I read some of your posts - thanks so much for rescuing Harry Kitty! We had a cat with diabetes too - he did so well on insulin, and was great about getting the shots twice a day.

And in answer to your question about my quilts, I usually make up the patterns myself except of course for things like four-patch, nine-patch, etc. (I don't like to sew triangles!) I like to use quilts to show off fabric, rather than piecing or quilting.

Hope you and yours have a happy Easter!
Katie

Your plants look so pretty and healthy; so does GK. I think the Easter Bunny would have liked to have some of those eggs. It looks like Baby Bean had her artistic hand at work. Really pretty!
