Thank You!

Thank you to Cat with a Garden for our "Bubbling Over Award!" We will pass it along next week when I'll have more time. We live our lives on an academic schedule and next week is Spring Break! Baby Bean, Alice, and I are headed for Pea Ridge for a few days of visiting Nana & Daddy Bill, Becky, Scooby, Harry Kitty, Hank, Skylar, Chilli, & all the horses and kitties in the barn. Cousin JM will be throwing a crawfish boil too! In the meantime, here are some pictures from beautiful Pea Ridge --

These glasses helped me do my Homework!!!

*

Dear Bloggyville,

When I was 8 years old, I was constantly having a hard time at school with my homework. We traveled a lot then. My Mom thought I might not be adjusting well to my new 3rd grade school. But, after an eye exam, it turned out that I needed glasses.

Let me tell you ... I was a new person! I did not know I couldn't see very well. AND I got these really cool glasses. I loved those black frames. I thought they made me look like a cat - CatWoman!

This is me below in Hawaii with my brother. By then I was in the 4th grade. I wonder what happened to those glasses?

This is me below, without my glasses, in my favorite Hawaiian dress!!

Have a great day & don't forget to get your eyes checked ... And eat your carrots!

Hugs,
JoceBean

Ps. Now I have fancy Chanel glasses!

My Study Buddy Has Returned!

Thank goodness -- not a moment too soon! I was hardly getting any writing done without him! We have recently become acquainted with Mr. Black and we think Tiger looks a lot like him. Sounds like they might have similar personalities too! Tiger runs our place & it's a big job!
It is a sunny and warm day, and I'd rather be working in my mess of a garden, but instead I'm inside typing away.....it is quiet though, because Baby Bean and Dad Bean are off running errands.
Sooooo...back to work..........

Wordy Friday

Since I am spending loads of time sitting in front of the computer these days, Alice and I have decided to take longer and brisker walks. The weather has been lovely -- breezy & warm. We definitely have spring fever! The only word to describe Alice on her walks is "joyous." Other than dinner time, it is her favorite time of the day. As a beagle-mix, Alice naturally spends a lot of time sniffing. She especially favors any ground cover like Asian jasmine or monkey grass. We have some lovely trees in our neighborhood. I love the huge magnolias, the way their branches dip low and all the crazy roots. I hate when people trim them to grow upward -- it is just all wrong. Soon they will be in bloom & they have a lovely fragrance.

Baby Bean has had standardized testing in school this week --so NO HOMEWORK!!! It has been great for everyone. We celebrated by watching American Idol this week. BB likes to jump rope while she watches television. She is almost never still.

My first chapter is due next Thursday, so I'm spending the next week hunkered down, reading and pounding away. I think my chapter is coming out rather well. It is really funny how your thoughts change during the writing process; I'm finding that I have some different ideas than I did even while in the midst of hard-core research. I'm now starting on the best part of my chapter, my most original stuff. I'd better get to it!

Happy weekend to everybody!!!

Gold Kitty Report

Gold Kitty has been sort of lost last week after the loss of his hero, the Monger. Monger always led the way to the food dish & Gold Kitty napped with him everyday. Now GK is having to adjust and find his kitty way. He is spending more time on the porch watching birds, but still finds time for serious napping.

Alice & Duck Treats

Alice eagerly anticipates her evening "duckies!" Sometimes she gets so greedy she drops one in her haste to take it in to the den and get chomping! Last night she was feeling more sedate and ate them in the kitchen.

Sunday Random Roundup

Hello, friends!  Last week was largely spent learning how to use various digital platforms for distance learning as well as the ever-popular...
